PREX Method v6 - Survival (new, recommended): a lossless container-normalization method reverse-engineered from the working open-method that survives TikTok's 2026 checks. The video and audio sample bytes stay 100% byte-identical - what changes is only the container: the video timescale is canonicalized (frame-count ticks -> standard 15360-class ticks, so 60fps reads cleanly), composition offsets are renormalized, the movie header gets an unknown-duration marker, the original editor handler names are kept, and a phantom audio track (10x sample count, fillers outside the media box) carries the survival signal. Reported fps, resolution and duration stay honest (60fps is still 60fps) - unlike v5, which failed the field test by reporting a different frame rate. Honest note: TikTok's anti-quality pipeline is an arms race - no method is 100% guaranteed. After posting, confirm the player tag reads 1080P/60. Fallbacks if it still compresses: High-quality re-encode, or the B-file from the A/B test package.
PREX Method v5 - FPS Guard (experimental): pure container-timing patch - every track's playback clock (timescale) is rescaled by a fixed factor while the video and audio samples stay 100% byte-identical. Field test 2026-09-25: FAILED - uploads still came back compressed (720p-class), so v5 is kept for research only. Report 30 FPS makes a 60fps source report 30fps with duration x2; Report 120 FPS is the inverse (duration x0.5). Use Method v6 (Survival) for uploads.
Clean remux (safest, zero tricks): remuxes the file with FFmpeg (moov first, faststart, all CapCut/editor metadata stripped) WITHOUT touching the video, its timing or its audio. The upload keeps its real 60fps and normal playback speed - it is just a clean, canonical container. Best choice when you only want to avoid "Only me" and don't need extra sharpness. Note: the audio stays bit-identical to your CapCut export, so do not re-upload the same export to several accounts.
High-quality re-encode (safe fallback): decodes the video and re-encodes it with libx264 plus a sharpening pass - a much better "master" for TikTok's own re-encode, so the served result is noticeably sharper. Sharper = CRF 18, medium preset (best quality). Faster = CRF 23, veryfast preset (several times quicker, still sharp). Rec.709 color tags are written explicitly so TikTok cannot mis-tag the color pipeline. The upload keeps exactly 60fps (constant frame rate) and the resolution of your CapCut export. 4K sources are auto-downscaled to 2K - TikTok serves max 1080p anyway, so you lose nothing and the encode is ~2x faster. Tick "Upscale to 2K" only for 1080p sources that want extra headroom (1440x2560) - very slow but the sharpest option. After posting, check the TikTok player tag: it should read 1080P/60 or higher.
Patched by TikTok (Aug 2026): this legacy method's ghost-frame signature was detected - uploads commonly come back blurry, 60fps forced to 30fps, or land on "Only me". Kept for backward compatibility only. Use PREX Method v6 (Survival) instead.

Upload in PREX Method v6 (Survival) mode (recommended) - video/audio samples stay 100% byte-identical (zero loss) so TikTok serves full resolution. High-quality re-encode is the fallback if v6 still comes back compressed.
Upload from PC (tiktok.com/upload or TikTok Studio web) - never from the phone app, it re-encodes and undoes the optimization.
Set post privacy to Everyone on the upload screen, then re-select "Everyone" one more time right before clicking Post - TikTok Studio web has a known bug (since 2026) that silently switches posts to "Only me" even when "Everyone" was chosen.
After posting, open the Check video tab and confirm the result shows Public (not an error) before moving on.
Do not edit / crop / add music inside TikTok after uploading - any in-app edit re-encodes the file.
Toggle "Allow high-quality uploads" ON in TikTok Settings → Content preferences.
Do not re-upload the same optimized file to multiple accounts - TikTok's dedup system links identical uploads across accounts.
If a post still lands on "Only me": flip the privacy back to Everyone on the post itself (app or web) - this works on TikTok's side; also clear tiktok.com cookies, re-login, and retry with a fresh session if it keeps happening.

2 · How to upload (step by step)
1Export clean from your editor
Use the Export Settings assistant above (card 1). Always export H.264/AVC + AAC in an MP4 container at a constant frame rate (60 or 120) — variable frame rate makes TikTok's player tag drop below 1080P/60.
2Run the Optimizer
Open the Optimizer tab, drop your export and choose PREX Method v6 (Survival, recommended) — the video and audio samples stay 100% byte-identical while the container is normalized for full-resolution serving. Watch the Upload readiness card after it analyzes your file.
3Upload from a PC browser
Go to tiktok.com/upload or TikTok Studio web — never the phone app, it re-encodes and undoes the optimization. Set privacy to Everyone, then re-select "Everyone" one more time right before clicking Post (TikTok Studio web has a known bug since 2026 that silently switches posts to "Only me").
4Turn on "Allow high-quality uploads"
TikTok Settings → Content preferences → toggle "Allow high-quality uploads" ON. Without it, TikTok is far more likely to serve a lower-bitrate version of your video.
5Verify with the Check tab
Open the Check video tab, paste the post URL and confirm it shows Public with 1080p (or your target) served — the check is now saved in Recent checks below. If it shows SD or "Only me", use the post-privacy flip + re-login fix.

Will my video be re-compressed?No. For H.264 sources the video track is byte-identical — TikTok sees the file as already optimized. Non-H.264 files get one clean H.264 conversion (CRF 14, near-lossless) so the upload always succeeds.
Does it work with 120 fps?Yes. 120 fps sources are supported and keep their frame structure; TikTok displays up to 60 fps, but the served quality stays full-resolution and sharp.
Is my video uploaded to your server?Never. Everything runs in your browser with in-browser FFmpeg. Only anonymized counters are sent to the studio.
